The Training of Trainers activity of the Vocational and Technical Training for the Development and Marketing of Innovative Fig Products project numbered 2023-1-TR01-KA210-VET-000161381, of which Söke TAYEM is the coordinator, Fig Research Institute Directorate is the local partner and Aris Formazione e Ricerca Societa Cooperativa (Italy) is the international partner, was held in Terni, Italy between 16-21 September 2024. Six technical staff from Söke TAYEM and 4 technical staff from Fig Research Institute Directorate participated in the training, which was organized in the form of theoretical and practical applications for new product development and marketing of products. Family fig processing enterprises, farms and the Faculty of Agriculture of the University of Perugia were among the places visited.
The next step of the project, which has the general objective of increasing product quality and diversity, improving the marketing skills of producers and entrepreneurs in order to increase the competitiveness of fig enterprises in Turkey so as not to break away from the commercial race, is the “Project and New Fig Product Promotion Event”.
